this article is for you! Please stay with me up until the end of this video. Don't skip any part of it so you won't miss any important information. Today, we will talk about the company overview. We will also talk about the application process and the salary or how much can you earn as a chat-based tutor on this website. We will also answer some FAQs later. In the last part of the video, we will talk about the pros and cons. Let's start. The website that I am talking about is Yup. Yup is a Math Tutoring platform where students can reach out to the tutors using their messaging platform. The platform is available 24/7 for students. Every time a student needs assistance, they can chat with a tutor and they will be assisted right away. With Yup, you not going to just provide the direct answers to students. The way Yup teaches students is different from other platforms where they only provide direct answers and solutions to problems/questions. With Yup, you will do a step-by-step explanation of how to answer a specific math problem. As a Yup Tutor, it's very important to make sure your students understand how did you arrive at a specific answer. What are the subjects you can teach here at Yup? They have Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus and Statistics. Those are the subjects you can teach here at Yup. Now let's proceed and discuss some FAQs. Where does tutoring take place? Students can download the application and chat with their tutors using their phones. Then tutors will use a PC/laptop to help the students answer math problems. If you will ask, is it okay for tutors to use their mobile phones? They don't recommend for tutors to use a mobile phone. That's because the teaching platform you will use would require a laptop or PC. How can you get paid and how much can you get as a Yup Tutor? You can earn from $11-$13 per hour. That's around Php 550-650 per hour. They will pay you through Paypal or through bank transfer. How does scheduling work? The schedule here is flexible and you don't have to adhere to any specific schedules. You can work anytime you want. You're the boss of your own time. How to apply as a Yup Math Tutor if you think you're qualified for the position? The first step if the written application where you will be asked to fill out a form with your personal information. After that, you will be routed to the next step which is the Math proficiency exam. Of course, they need to best your ability if you can really teach Mathematics. There are two levels of Match: Lower Math and Upper Math. You can take either one of the exams or you can also take both. It's much better if you will be qualified for both. You can get a higher rate if you will handle higher Math problems. There are 10 questions for each set. The passing rate is 70%. That means you need to get at least 7 correct answers to pass the exam. What will happen if you fail and if you didn't get the required percentage? You will not be able to proceed to the last step. You will be receiving a notice that you can try to retake the assessment after 90 days. Sadly, you'll need to wait 90 days before you can try again. It is not required to pass both Lower and Upper Math. As long as you can pass at least one of the exams, you can proceed to the next step, which is the teaching exam or the demo exam. You will be undergoing a teaching exam. It's a simulation of teaching an actual Yup student. If you pass the proficiency exam and the teaching exam, then you can start tutoring with Yup. The application process is very easy. It will just take you three steps to get hired. It would even take less than 24 hours if you will process the application continuously. Then you can start teaching already. You can start earning right away. Regarding their exams, even the lower math, it's really challenging! You need to do your best and focus to make sure you'll get the required number of correct answers. Take note that the exam is time-pressured so you really need to do your best. Also, you only have one trial, so if you will fail, you will not be endorsed to the next step. As also mentioned on their website, less than 5% of the applicants usually pass the whole application process. The application process is rigorous, right? If you pass the exam, another challenge is to pass the teaching exam/demo exam. Let's talk about the Pros and Cons of being a Yup Tutor. For the pros, number one is the schedule. Most of the teaching companies have alloted schedules. But here with Yup, you get to choose your own schedule depending on your availability. It's very flexible! Another one is that it's non-voice, which means no videos or audio classes. You will only teach Yup Students through text or chat. The third one that I'd like to mention is the Salary. $11-$13 - it's super competitive. That's a high salary already for a tutor. For cons, the only thing I can think about is their rigorous application process. The application process is very easy but it is not that too easy to get in. They really select the best applicants. That's the platform that I'd like to share with you today. If you think you're qualified and you're still looking for jobs, and if you love teaching math and you're good at it this will be the best job for you! You just need to do your best to pass and start as a Yup Math Tutor. That's it for today! Please feel free to drop your comments if you have questions. I'll try my best to answer those as long as I know the answer. Also, if you are a Yup Math Tutor, please share your experience by commenting on this video.
